What are Region Track & Field Championships?
Region Track & Field Championships are conducted in a slightly different manner to weekly competition. Athletes select the events they would like to compete in, up to 4 events in total.
At the event your young athlete will need to marshall at the marshalling tent to be taken out to their chosen event. Region Track & Field allows your child to pick their favourite events and compete against athletes from different centres.
Region Track & Field is for all registered LAVIC athletes, any ability of athlete can attend, it is also the way athletes qualify to go to State Track & Field Championships. If you have never done Regions ... give it a go!
- Athletes need to be U9-U15 LAVIC registered athletes.
- Athletes need to have attended a minimun of 4 weeks of Centre Competition prior to the close of entries - 31 JAN 2018
- Any competition scheduled from Monday 20th November - Sunday 26th November (all dates inclusive) including Centre Competition & Region Relays cannot be used as a eligible competition for participation requirements (See Competition Regulation 8 - Rule 602: Eligibility)
- SMR athletes should be a registered and financial member with the one of the following Centres: Brighton, Caulfield, Chelsea, Dandenong, Frankston, Mentone, Moorabbin, Mornington, Oakleigh, Sandringham, Seaford, Southern Peninsula, Springvale, Waverley, Westernport
Athlete Eligiblity Appeals
If an athlete hasn't or isn't going to meet the participation requirements and has reasonable grounds for the lack of participation (ie injury) they are required to lodge an appeal on the prescribed form. (See Competition Regulation 8 - IAAF Rules / LAVic Competition Rules)

Entry is required by entering a username / password, please use the reminder at the top right hand side of this page if you do not have it recorded safely, each athlete will have a seperate username / password for the purpose of event registrations. Payment to be made online at time of entry
NO. OF EVENTS
Athletes may choose a maximum of 4 (four) events to compete in.
WALKS & HIGH JUMP EVENTS
There are minimum performance standards to be eligible to qualify in Walk and High Jump events.
Even if you win your Region, but don’t meet the qualifying standard, you will not be eligible to compete at States.
Please note a Region draft timetable will be available shortly – Region timetables are modelled on the LAVic State Timetable, however the timing can differ slightly and may also alter after the close of entries.
